Freedom

I am a bird of Paradise, of heavenly birds is my tone.
I will not speak of the earthly, I am of the unknown.

Seven years ago a small gray parrot flew into our house and stayed with us for all these years. Last month the little bird decided that it was time for her to move on. She gracefully flew through a small opening in our back door and made sure that we saw her, as she circled around our house. She made new and exciting noises, inviting us to follow her, before she took off into a new and expanded horizon.

After grieving our little bird's departure and accepting that I would most likely not see her again in this lifetime I was left with the beauty of the image of her flight and the feeling of joy and excitement she was able to transmit when she was soaring high in the sky.

The more we spiritually awaken, the more we understand that there is a broader reality awaiting us and inviting us to explore it; as we make the leap and trust our ability to soar and fly we are met by the trust of the Spirit, which is already there to support and uplift us. Spirit always says yes!

All is Spirit in Its fullness. The Spirit expresses Itself in, as and through us; uplifts, supports and nurtures Itself as us and as everything all around us. We can never be separate from It, because we are It already.

And through this I know that the little bird that shared its presence with my family and me for so many years is still with us, because there is no difference between the Spirit expressing Itself as her life or as my life. There is only one Spirit, one God knowing more about Itself because of the Love we shared and the Love we have for another being.

Affirmation:
Today I soar and fly higher than ever before. I truly know that God holds me, uplifts me and nurtures me! I trust the Spirit underneath my wings. Now and always!
