Once We Know, We Cannot Un-know

January 20, 2014

When I walk, I walk with you. Where I go, you're with me always.
~Alice Hoffman

More often than not, we are conditioned to take memories of our past and project them into the future, thereby creating our present lives' experience. Even at an early age we create memory imprints unconsciously. We might stumble, fall to the ground and experience physical hurt. After that, we might become more careful next time we run or we might go to the extreme of never wanting to run again at all. In any case, once we know something hurts we cannot un-know it due to the direct experience.

When we encounter a situation that we label as positive, such as a new job, a loving relationship or another person's genuine smile, most of us seem to have a tendency to let this experience fall under the category of an “exception.” We might even say, “this cannot last forever.”

What hinders us from letting experiences that allow us to thrive and let us feel good touch our hearts and thereby create a lasting memory imprint of that which nurtures and supports us? In fact, we live in friendly Universe that bends Itself around us and which always says yes to everything we desire to do!

In Truth, we simply need to get up when we fall and trust in our Divinity, that we are God's beloved children in whom God is well pleased. God expresses Itself in, as and through our lives right here, right now!

The more we can cherish and embrace all the moments where we truly feel supported, nurtured and loved beyond any concept of human loving, the more we know about the presence of God in our lives. And once we know, we cannot un-know.

Affirmation:
Today I give thanks for the countless blessings in my life and I allow for everything that does not serve me to dissolve into God's love with ease and grace.
