Take a “Time In”
It always seems impossible until it's done.
~Nelson Mandela
At work I often hear the question of “How are you?” answered with “Good, but real busy”. While this implies that we are continuously running a marathon through life, hardly ever acknowledging ourselves for reaching a milestone, we are also saying that we are only good because we are busy.
In addition, and due to societal conditioning, negative thoughts get triggered when the body temple wants nothing more than to rest and simply asks for permission to do no-thing. Our own mind jumps into self-judgment and so and so often we do not consciously realize that we are pushing ourselves too hard.
Yet, when we finally get to the point of celebrating
ourselves and prioritizing our own renewal, we generally do this with the words
of taking “time out”, stating that we will spend time away from working or
studying with the notion of doing something for ourselves. Even in the “time
out” there is activity.
Only the time that we take for an inner journey, for
meditation, for an intentional reflection, creates the space we need for
renewal. Only in this space of our inner landscape can the Spirit bring forth
new ideas and insights through us.
After all we cannot manage or control time. In our human
experience we cannot make the future come faster or slow down the past. Only
our mind can race from one not yet manifest appointment to yet another also
still virtual gathering.
Only when using our “Time In” practice can we stay in the
present; and only in the present can we manage our attention. Where attention
and intention go energy flows; and a daily, dedicated “Time In” practice
unlocks that space from where we can allow for things to come through us and
for our true nature to unfold.
Affirmation:
I am in on my “Time In” practice. Effortlessly I allow for
my life to unfold with ease and grace. It is possible and it is done!
