The Wave and the Water

December 5, 2016

Enlightenment is when the wave realizes it is the water.
~Thich Nhat Hanh

Looking out over the ocean from the point furthest north on the Hawaiian islands invites to reflect on what is, my relationship with the divine and how that, which is fully present right here and right now, expresses Itself in, as and through life on this earth plane.

Knowing that I am on an island in the South Pacific Ocean where there is no landmass visible for more than 2500 miles in the direction I am looking brings forth a feeling of awe and gratitude for the early explorers, the Polynesians, who set out in their canoes to successfully navigate the waters of their time.

Their idea was a simple one from today's perspective, yet revolutionary at their time. They assumed that, as objects where fixed on land, so were the stars in the sky. This allowed an individual to not only travel through an environment at land but also at sea. Every thing is fixed while only the individual I moves.

The transcendental traveler that I became over the years, the meditator, has a different experience. Sitting still I am the fix point rooted in the eternal now and the divine energy, that, which I call God, is fully present right in this moment. Here the physicality dissolves into spectra of light, and every thing moves in, as and through the presence that I am. Every thing moves and changes while peace is still.

Connectedness: There is only One here! Immediate Conversations: No social media post necessary! Life affirming beingness: I get to invite my harmonizing good. Wherever I go, God is there already!

I come back to this physical place once every year. Yet even after many years of looking out over the ocean I am seeing this place as if it was for the first time.

Affirmation:
Today I look past the waviness of my daily life and take a deep dive into my eternal God being. I am rooted in God and I simply allow myself to be.
