Consciousness

We often think of consciousness in terms of what we are conscious of. We also often hear that consciousness evolves. However, in all these notions is where confusion lies. Consciousness is!

It is an aspect of our reality, which is most intimate to our existence. Consciousness is our innate ability to be awake. If you are an awake intelligent being, which you are by the sheer fact that you are reading these word, you possess, or even better, you are a part of consciousness.

Because consciousness is, it is a singularity. It is one without a second. It is indivisible! And consciousness is always unbounded and it is beyond space and time.

Consciousness is like the white light in a movie projector. It permits all the images of a film to come to be seen. In our humanness we are identifying this light with the various images, which are fleeting across the screen. In reality though consciousness is the light itself and the fast changing images are simply ways that consciousness is expressed and reflected back at us.

In our capacity to be aware of awareness we may view ourselves as individuals such as the waves on an ocean. But the waves and the ocean itself are one unified reality. The water, the substance of these waves and the ocean are identical. There is no difference!

What is different is how we perceive this. Do we perceive ourselves as only waves or do we perceive ourselves as the ocean. Are we identifying ourselves with the images of the film or are we the light that brings those images to life!

We are individuals, unique emanations of the Divine and as the many that express the One there is our higher, transpersonal self, which is unbounded, timeless and which is One.

Affirmation:
My life is a true expression of the Divine. I celebrate my connectedness with all sentient beings and I bless the Love, Peace and Harmony that is birthed from within!
