The Path to Newness

As we are moving on the path of newness into the new year, we are still inundated with all the overwhelming issues our world is facing. While we are in this world, we study, pray, meditate, and learn to grow past all the world’s fleeting pleasures which only create dissatisfaction. No amount of these earthy thrills will ever be “enough.”  By understanding that only the Spirit is our source and supply we energize and ground ourselves so that we can be of service to us and to the world.

On our path of rebirthing ourselves, we learn to be still and rest within our own being. We cultivate our practice and recognize the pain that is present in us both individually and collectively and we can take feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and insecurity, as pointers to examine our internal world and evolve into the being we desire to be.

When we practice yielding and looking deeply, we learn to surrender ourselves to the present moment. In the present moment, our mindful breathing becomes an anchor that brings our mind home to our body, allowing us to not be lost in the past or future. When we are at home within us, we feel what is present. Our existence is no longer an intellectual exercise but an experience. By feeling what is present, we have an opportunity to care for and transform ourselves and the world. We stop running away from challenges but accept, embrace, and understand them so we can work and grow through them. With this understanding, we have a path of healing, transformation, and love. We then can offer such opportunities to our our loved ones, our communities, and ultimately, to the world. The path of newness is right in front of us, right here and right now!

Today I tend to my garden of newness. My mind is open to new possibilities. I allow myself to grow into my greater yet to be!
